I Walk Around
You may see me in the sky and wonder where I stand.
Truth is I don’t really know where I am
it could be a mountain, or it could be a gram
Of breath in the chest of an invisible man
standing on the corner of safety and fear
swimming in the border between here and there
drinking from a challis of the space I’ve crossed
and just because I wander doesn’t mean that I am lost
Yes I’ll be a man, rising up again
In the body of woman, body of a friend
The body of a beast who reaches for the end
The body of hunger when you wouldn’t let him in.
cause now I am a ghost who floats in the holes of the street,
and what you throw away is what I eat
Though my heart is made hard by wages of your sin
You can still feel the heat under my skin
So why don’t we begin?
I’m walking in the morning, walking in the night
Walking on the left, walking on the right
Walking in the corner where the shadows fight
Walking alright if I’m walking in the light
Walking in your office, walking in your home
I’m walking in your mirror when you hear the moan
Of a soul that’s forever on the roam
And will never find a place to belong.
Walking home.
I walk around...
