Kryptonite

Created and directed by Carvell Wallace

Script by Carvell Wallace and S. Marx
Original Music and Choreography by Carvell Wallace
Frederick Lowe Theatre, 721 Broadway New York, New York

Incorporating elements of Butoh, Vocal Improvisation, and Dance Theatre, and Musical Theatre, Kryptonite is two act mediation on the confusion of life in the modern world. An ensemble of actors perform Wallace’s original songs, writings and musical compositions all leading to a climax that has to be seen to be understood. The Washington Square News called it “vast and mesmerizing”

Booty’s Gift

Created and directed by Carvell Wallace
Original Music by Jonathan Bradley
Script by Carvell Wallace, S Marx, Lana Volla, and Shana Menarsky

Present Street Theatre 198 Stanton St, New York, New York

A two act live performance building on the themes and characters of Kryptonite. Much of the play takes place in a taxi cab specially constructed by Katrin Asbury and Shawn Greene to drive around inside the theatre. Just like Kryptonite the play involves choreography, sudden musical numbers and disorienting monologues about death that take place on exercise bicycles.

The Art Newspaper called it “an arresting blend surrealism and pathos”
